Water Management

The company recognizes the critical importance of protecting both the water cycle and biodiversity in its operations. Serioplast is dedicated to implementing sustainable practices that not only minimize water usage but also help safeguard marine ecosystems and species.

While water consumption in packaging production is relatively low, Serioplast values water as a vital resource and is committed to using it efficiently and responsibly. Water plays a more significant role in its recycling processes, where it is essential for washing materials. The company sources fresh water mainly from municipal supplies and, in some facilities, from its own wells, ensuring a reliable supply while taking local water availability and sustainability into account.

Serioplast’s efforts to promote global sustainability are supported by the following actions:

  • Implementing closed-loop water systems in its operations;
  • Providing ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) training to employees to prevent water loss;
  • Monitoring water consumption and ensuring proper treatment where necessary;
  • Recovering water for reuse through drainage systems;
  • Rolling out the Operation Clean Sweep Program at the Group level to reduce plastic pellet pollution and protect marine biodiversity and natural environments.
