Protecting Our Environment for a Sustainable Future
We are committed to playing a key role in the implementation of a circular economy. We want to manufacture products with a lower carbon footprint, with lower impact on biodiversity across the life cycle. Our production goals include efficient handling of resources, waste reduction, responsible water consumption and promoting the use of renewable energy.
Decarbonization
Serioplast’s journey to decarbonization involves a multifaceted approach that addresses various aspects of the production process, reflected in Company’s commitment to SBTi. Serioplast’s actions are translated into its SERIOPLAN2050, collecting different actions on different areas.

Commitment to SBTi targets

Science-Based Targets Initiative (SBTi)
Serioplast Group is taking bold steps to combat climate change with our science-based targets, officially validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). The SBTi is a global authority that drives ambitious climate action in the private sector by enabling companies to set greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction targets in line with the latest climate science. By adhering to the SBTi’s rigorous Net-Zero Standard, companies ensure that their decarbonization efforts are credible, measurable, and aligned with a pathway to limit global temperature rise to 1.5°C.
For Serioplast, joining this initiative means turning our climate commitments into transparent, science-driven action.
Near-Term Targets (Approved by SBTi)
Serioplast Group commits to reduce absolute scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 54.6% by 2033 from a 2023 base year. We also commit to reduce absolute scope 3 GHG emissions—from purchased goods and services, and fuel and energy-related activities—by 32.5% within the same timeframe.
Long-Term Targets (Approved by SBTi)
Serioplast Group commits to reduce absolute scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 90% by 2050 from a 2023 base year. We also commit to reduce absolute scope 3 GHG emissions by 90% by 2050—achieving net-zero emissions across our entire value chain.
These targets have been officially validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), confirming that our climate ambition is aligned with the most urgent requirement of the Paris Agreement: limiting global warming to 1.5°C.
Achieving these goals requires more than ambition—it demands integrated action across our value chain. Through our SerioHUB innovation platform, we co-create sustainable packaging with clients using strategies such as lightweighting, PCR integration, material switches, and lifecycle assessments (LCAs). These efforts are further strengthened by SerioLOOP, our dedicated circularity platform focused on closing the loop on plastics. SerioLOOP enables traceability, promotes reuse systems, and supports the collection and reintegration of recycled materials—amplifying the impact of our emissions reduction strategies.
We are committed to transparent, science-based reporting, and disclose our progress annually in the Serioplast Sustainability Report (available here). This report details our emissions data, performance against targets, and future action plans.

Our roadmap is clear: accelerate emissions cuts through design, material, and energy transformation while embedding circular economy principles at scale. With data-backed decisions and collaborative innovation, Serioplast is delivering climate action that is transparent, effective, and future-ready.

Operation clean sweep
Operation Clean Sweep is a global initiative aimed at preventing plastic pellet pollution. It encourages companies involved in the plastic supply chain to adopt best practices and take steps to minimize the accidental release of plastic pellets into the environment.
As a leading player in the plastic industry, Serioplast is likely committed to Operation Clean Sweep. This commitment would involve implementing various measures to prevent plastic pellet spills and reduce their environmental impact.
By actively participating in Operation Clean Sweep and implementing best practices, Serioplast can demonstrate its commitment to environmental sustainability and help to reduce plastic pollution.
